long time, no blog.

so i guess i sort of stink at this blogging business.
i posted... yes two posts last quarter. whooop de doooo.
i'll try to be better this quarter.. even though it's already almost halfway over.
holy cow it's already almost halfway over!

soooo.. winter quarter in a nutshell.
MUCH less stressful.

oh wait!! i guess i should say fall quarter in a nutshell first!
ha ha it has been SO LONG.
but ... let's see.
it was... good? great? i dunno.
very fun.
satisfied with my grades.
got closer to God.
got closer to my fellow seattle-ites.
overall - i can't see myself being anywhere else.
this is definitely where i'm meant to be :)

then came christmas break.
SO GOOD TO BE HOME!
great time with family.
great time with friends.
great food.
greatness.

but.. also tragic.
a friend and co-worker of mine was involved in a fatal car accident.
we lost kassandra lou kerfoot on december 29, 2009.

that's her there on the left, on a really fun adventure with our friend stephanie and me.
some really great memories come to mind when i think of her.
she was a great girl. always smiling. always a goofball. always.
even when life was messed up.
she is very, very missed but is up there hanging with Jesus now :)

not gonna lie, it was really hard to come back to seattle after i'd been thrown for such a loop.
i've never had to deal with grief like this before.
we lost shadow, our black lab, a little over a year ago, and that was REALLY hard.
but this was different. a human being. gone in the blink of an eye.
here one minute, gone the next.
life is a crazy, crazy thing, let me tell you.
BUT.
thank God for such amazing people i have in my life that have gone through this with me and helped me.
we're so blessed.
not a day goes by when i don't think about kassy's big ole smile, but it gets easier and easier every day.
God is good.
He has been my comfort and joy.

back to winter quarter, i suppose?
on a lighter note, GOOD NEWS!
God willing, i am going to INDONESIA for the whole month of july on a mission trip through SPU!
i got accepted to our school's mission program called SPRINT to travel with a small group to spend time with families and learn about the indonesian culture.

that's me and two of my friends who also got accepted to SPRINT trips in vietnam & russia!!

i feel SO BLESSED. what an opportunity.
i feel like up until now my spiritual journey has been mainly focused on my myself.
take, not give.
but i feel like it is time for a change.
time to give, not take.
i am extremely excited to see what God is bringing to my life and what i am able to bring to others lives through Him.
prayer would be greatly appreciated as plans are made for our trips and important decisions made.

but as for school... haha finally.
well.
i'm taking:
UCOR (Arts & Christian Community)
General Psychology
Intermediate Spanish II
and Beginning Voice <-- so fun!

i am really liking all of them and the work load is significantly less stressful than last quarter.
just lots of textbook reading, which is not always so fun :(
but i can't believe that it's already almost the fifth week of the quarter.
it has flown by.
but i can't wait for spring break because holy cow this rain has gotta go!
it actually hasn't been bad for the last week or so, but before that it was literally rainy EVERY DAY.
sooo not used to that.
but for spring break i might go home with one my friends for the first couple days and we'd make a little trip up to Victoria, British Columbia.
i've heard it's absolutely gorgeous!!
then i'll fly back home and then hopefully the fam is headed down to arizona for a while to get some SUNSHINE :)
helllooooo sun.

well i'll post a few pictures of what's been going on lately and then i'm out!!
so long friends.
